Jonathan is a highly experienced lawyer and General Counsel with wide expertise across a number of industries.  He was a partner at renowned firm Carter Rucks, litigator at the BBC, European General Counsel at Yahoo! and General Counsel at Vodafone Ltd.

In addition to his deep legal knowledge, he is an insightful leader and passionate about promoting the issues of inhouse lawyers across industry.  He has provided solutions-oriented leadership training, ranging from managing a legal team and their progression, to mastering the balance that a General Counsel must achieve between their compliance responsibilities and their role as part of the management team.

Jonathan is particularly adept at focussed planned mentoring for General Counsels and their teams, enabling them to achieve professional success whilst serving their business needs in the best way possible.

Candy is a senior commercial lawyer with a particular focus in the fintech, payments and e-money space. Her expertise was honed in her previous inhouse roles at  high growth businesses such as WorldPay and TransferWise, helping them to solve many legal and strategic challenges. She is adept at negotiating and closing major strategic partnerships; securing direct memberships with international card schemes; overhauling and simplifying global customer agreements and preparing for the introduction of new legislation such as the Payment Services Directive 2. She has also been pivotal in securing major investments from venture capital and pension funds.

Candy has a client and business friendly approach and enjoys working closely with product teams from the development stage to full global launch. Most recently, she helped a product team to launch a borderless account, an e-money product which allows users to hold balances in multiple currencies.

Sam is a corporate and commercial lawyer with significant strategic, legal and commercial experience, both in-house and in private practice. She has broad experience of information technology, e-commerce, commercial contracts, FinTech and data privacy. She has had a successful career in the City, as a partner at leading law firm Lovells (now Lovells Hogan) and helping them to set up and build their project finance practice.  She brings over 12 years of experience as a General Counsel for OB10 and Tungsten PLC, as a member of the executive team and providing support to the Board. She managed business, legal and reputational risk while leading the legal team and overseeing compliance, corporate governance, co-sec and HR.

Sam has a proven track record of project and team leadership, change management, structuring effective in-house legal processes and running complex projects including GDPR, implementing AIM compliance, overseas and UK acquisitions (including completion and integration of the acquisition of a UK bank). Sam works closely with businesses to provide clear, pragmatic, commercial and strategic advice.

Meredith is a senior commercial and technology lawyer with strong expertise in FinTech and broad experience both in transactional and strategic matters.

Having spent a number of years in inhouse, in private practice and in a financial services regulator, she has significant legal experience in information technology, intellectual property, media, financial services, m-commerce, public policy and disruptive technology. She has worked inhouse in the digital, FinTech, advertising, and telecommunications sectors.

Meredith is a strong communicator, experienced in briefing executive teams and designing creative and practical solutions to complex problems. She was recently a part of the executive team behind M-PESA - the world’s leading mobile money transfer and payments service.

Gaëlle specializes in competition, distribution and advertising law with a focus on the sectors of advertising, e-commerce, digital, FMCG, agri-food and luxury goods. Gaëlle has particular expertise in advising, drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements. She also has wide ranging experience in marketing and consumer law. 
 
Gaëlle is business-oriented and provides clients with innovative and pragmatic advice.  She is equally adept at advising start-ups as well as established multi-national companies and she thrives on developing a close working relationship with her clients, from assisting them in complex commercial contracts to providing advice on sensitive advertising and distribution cases. She is also well-versed in supporting their day-to-day management. 

Marta is a technology lawyer with a legal practice spanning intellectual property and information technology. With experience as both external counsel as well as inhouse legal counsel (secondee) for Yahoo Italia, she combines the perspectives of both. Marta particularly excels at working closely with inhouse business, editorial, sales and finance teams in Italy, advising and negotiating legal issues in commercial deals and leading compliance requirements including establishing and enforcing Law Enforcement Policies pertaining to Italy. Her clients include content providers, advertising companies, agencies and other vendors. She covers IP & TMT matters including privacy, e-commerce, consumer protection, advertising, promotions and prize competitions.

Hermione is a technology, commercial and data protection lawyer with extensive experience advising businesses and financial institutions on data protection, intellectual property and commercial contracts.

Hermione has worked with ecommerce, media and technology companies in Edinburgh and London and more recently has worked with clients to help them take steps to get ready for GDPR. Previously, she worked at two major start-up businesses: boo.com (during the dot com boom and bust) and setting up the mobile phone company, 3.  

Hermione takes a common sense approach and strives to work closely with her business clients to achieve realistic commercial objectives and to drive projects forward.  She was also project manager and successfully designed and implemented a major CRM system for a national law firm.  Hermione teaches law at Edinburgh University and is a mentor for RBS Entrepreneurial Spark.   She is qualified in English law and is familiar with advising companies in Scotland and England.  

Sabine is a digital, media and intellectual property specialist with deep expertise in the digital environment, including e-commerce, data privacy, ISP liability, online advertising and content. She has rich and varied experience, gleaned from start-ups to big companies and thrives on meeting the legal challenges of the digital economy. Her business-oriented and client-friendly approach was honed by her experience whilst in-house at M6 and Disney. She continues to provide close support to digital and media companies, ranging from contract drafting and negotiation, risk assessment and compliance programs through to the day-to-day requirements of production, publication and distribution of their creative content (covering books, cinema, television, music and live shows). She is also an attorney at Fidal law firm.
